Grêmio unveiled Argentine midfielders Juan Nardoni and Leonel Pérez at the Arena do Grêmio auditorium on Friday afternoon, with both signing contracts through 2029.
According to Globo.com, Grêmio will pay US$ 8 million for 80 percent of Nardoni’s rights, with up to US$ 2 million in bonuses, figures listed as R$ 41.7 million and R$ 10.4 million respectively.
Nardoni, 23, joined Racing in 2023 after Unión Santa Fe, winning the 2024 Copa Sudamericana and the 2025 Recopa. He accepted the pressure that comes with the fee and said the club’s interest made him keen to join, adding that he is grateful and happy to be training with the team.
Pérez, 21, arrives from Huracán. He landed in Porto Alegre on Saturday for medical tests and to sign, then watched at the Arena as the team reached the Gauchão semi-finals that night.
Grêmio have acquired 50 percent of Pérez’s rights for US$ 2.83 million, around R$ 14.7 million, with the remaining 50 percent set at US$ 3 million, R$ 15.56 million, if targets are met.
A holding midfielder by trade, Pérez completed his first professional season in 2025 and quickly became a starter through his passing and positioning. He said his natural roles are as a 5 or 8, and while he has not played centre-back or full-back, he would do so if required.
The pair could feature after Carnival once registered on the CBF’s Boletim Informativo Diário, making them available to head coach Luís Castro. They take Grêmio’s tally of signings to six alongside left-back Caio Paulista, forwards Tetê and Enamorado, and goalkeeper Weverton.
