Grêmio are still working to have Villasanti available against Remo in Belém on Wednesday at 19:30. Paraguay have scheduled a last-minute friendly with New York Red Bulls on Monday in the United States, which delays his return.

According to Globo.com, the Paraguayan federation have told Grêmio they will only release their players on Tuesday. Paraguay also face Colombia on Friday, and the kick-off time for their third friendly has not yet been announced.

Grêmio remain in contact with Paraguayan officials to devise a special return plan for the midfielder. One option being considered is for Villasanti to travel on a Palmeiras charter, though Grêmio have not confirmed this, and the details are being kept under wraps.

The squad based in Porto Alegre will fly to Belém on Monday, where Villasanti would join up with the delegation.

Palmeiras are evaluating a charter to collect Mauricio, Gustavo Gómez and Ramón Sosa in the United States. If that trip is confirmed, the club would be willing to bring Villasanti too. Palmeiras play Bahia on Thursday at Nubank Parque.

Grêmio will be without the suspended midfielder Noriega against Remo. Centre-back Gustavo Martins is also out after receiving a third yellow card.
