Grêmio have set a 3.5 million dollar minimum to sell Cristian Olivera, currently on loan at Bahia and on Nacional-URU's radar. The club are open to talks from that figure, equivalent to R$ 17.8 million.

According to Globo.com, Bahia must be consulted because they paid for the loan and hold a matching purchase option at the same price. Any move would therefore need Bahia's approval.

Nacional-URU recently tried to sign Cristian Olivera. A loan offer was rejected by Bahia, then a 1.5 million dollar bid to Grêmio, R$ 7.6 million, was also turned down.

Grêmio's hierarchy say they have not held talks with Nacional-URU because of the player's agreement with Bahia. They also believe there was an attempt to tap up the player.

For any renewed push, Nacional-URU would need to meet Grêmio's valuation and include Bahia in negotiations. Bahia are not expected to release the player without reimbursement for the amount already paid.

Olivera has not played for Bahia in the second half of the year. He requested to terminate his deal there and has been training alone at CT Evaristo de Macedo, aiming to join Nacional-URU. As he is not being used by Bahia, he is likely to return to Grêmio at the start of next year, and his contract runs until December 2027.
