Grêmio aim to build on last weekend’s 2-1 win over São Paulo when they visit Atlético-MG on Sunday at 16:00 Brasília time at the Arena MRV in Belo Horizonte in round 23. According to Gremistas.net, Luís Castro’s side are bidding to find momentum.
They sit 14th on 25 points and are still seeking a first away win in this league campaign. The Tricolor have played 10 away matches, with six defeats.
Tetê is available after recovering from a muscular oedema. Midfielder Filipe Krovinovic has had his name published on the BID and is available to make his debut.
There are selection doubts. Left-back Marlon returned to full training on Friday after being managed for workload, but he may be rested because of the stadium’s synthetic surface. The situation is similar for Villasanti, who returns to the stadium where he suffered a serious left-knee injury in August 2025, rupturing his ACL and lateral meniscus.
In midfield, Krovinovic is competing for a start with the Argentine Nardoni, who was taken off against São Paulo amid boos. If Villasanti starts, Castro could form a trio with Noriega, the Paraguay captain, and Nardoni or Krovinovic.
Probable Atlético-MG: Everson, Natanael, Ruan, Vitor Hugo, Renan Lodi, Alan Franco, Maycon, Reinier, Victor Hugo, Bernard, Cuello, coached by Eduardo Dominguez.
Probable Grêmio: Weverton, Diego Caito, Gustavo Martins, Wallace, Marlon, Noriega, Villasanti, Nardoni or Krovinovic, Pavón, Amuzu, Carlos Vinícius, coached by Luís Castro.
Where to watch, TV Globo free-to-air, GeTV on YouTube and Premiere on pay-per-view.
