Grifo pens new Freiburg contract | OneFootball

SC Freiburg have announced that Vincenzo Grifo has signed a contract extension with the club.

The Breisgau outfit confirmed on Wednesday that the long-serving club legend will continue his spell in Freiburg, but didn't disclose the length of the new deal.

“Working with Vince is special, whether that’s on the pitch, in the dressing room or in our conversations with him,” said Freiburg sporting director Klemens Hartenbach.

“His consistent performances and the support he provides to his teammates make him hugely important to the whole group. Vince is still as hungry as ever, so we’re delighted that he’s extended his contract.”

Grifo – Freiburg’s all-time leading goalscorer and assist provider with 108 goals and 98 assists – also commented on the contract extension:

“My journey here isn’t over yet and there are still a number of things I want to achieve. I’m very ambitious and I want to be on the pitch in every game," he said. 

"The competition from the younger players keeps me on my toes and makes all of us better. My family was also a major factor. We’ve found a home here in Freiburg, so it was an easy decision for me.”
