Groningen host PSV in the Eredivisie at the Euroborg on Sunday, 8 February 2026, with the leaders looking to tighten their grip on top spot and the hosts aiming to reinforce their play-off push.
Groningen sit eighth on 31 points, while PSV lead the division with 56 points. The visitors also won the reverse fixture 4-2 in August.
Form is split. Groningen lost successive league games to Fortuna Sittard and Sparta Rotterdam after winning at Heerenveen, while the leaders' recent league run features a 3-0 win over Feyenoord, a 2-1 victory at Fortuna Sittard and a 5-1 home success against Excelsior.
Selection could matter. Groningen are without suspended defenders Marvin Peersman and Dies Janse, with midfielders Mats Seuntjens and Tika de Jonge among the injured. For the visitors, forwards Alassane Plea and Ruben van Bommel remain sidelined.
Tactically, Boeren bring the league's most potent attack with 64 goals, built on 61% possession and 86.68% passing accuracy. They are dangerous in the box, with 55 goals from inside the area and a notable aerial threat through 15 headed goals, aided by 21.93% cross accuracy from open play. Groningen average 52% possession and deliver frequent balls from wide areas, with 298 open play crosses at 18.46% accuracy, but have only three headed goals and two from set pieces, so may need sharper work in the penalty area to capitalise.
A home win would strengthen Groningen's position in the qualification play-offs. Victory for Boeren would further consolidate first place in the title race.
