Guido Rodríguez has not closed the door on Valencia after arriving in January and becoming central to Carlos Corberán’s midfield. According to AS, his half‑season agreement has ended and he is weighing up options for next season.

He is on holiday and, despite making Lionel Scaloni’s provisional list, he is not in Argentina’s World Cup squad for the United States, Canada and Mexico. His representatives are handling talks with clubs as they explore his next move.

Valencia would gladly keep him and know his conditions, but no agreement has been reached.

Corberán has told CEO Ron Gourlay that Guido is the holding midfielder he wants for his new project. Gourlay will try to meet that request, though the player’s conditions are considered high for Valencia.

Guido and his agents have sounded out other sides, including Villarreal, who have ruled out a move because the contract terms are beyond them. If the Argentine is to remain in Europe, he would need to lower his demands, which is where Valencia could come in.

He already knows the club and city after half a season at Mestalla, and the plan to return to Europe next year is part of the pitch to him. With more than one month until the window opens, Valencia are shaping the squad and Guido remains on the table, without having said no.
