Gustavo Henrique sidelined by adductor injury, misses Santos v Corinthians | OneFootball

Santos midfielder Gustavo Henrique has suffered a right adductor muscle injury and will miss the meeting with Corinthians on Thursday at 19:30 at Vila Belmiro in the fourth round of the Paulistão.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the academy graduate has begun physiotherapy and there is no timetable for his return.

Having aged out of the youth ranks, Gustavinho played his final Copinha this year, making five appearances. He was promoted to the first team during the tournament and made his senior debut in the 2-1 home win over Novorizontino that opened the Paulistão campaign.

Santos will also be without Gabriel Bontempo, who is recovering from a muscle oedema, and Tiquinho Soares, who is treating a calf oedema.

Gustavo is under contract with Santos until the end of 2028. He can operate in midfield and at right-back.

Last year he was registered with the senior squad for the Paulistão and was on the bench against Velo Clube and São Bernardo. He also featured on the bench in the clássico against São Paulo in the Brasileirão.

He began at Independente in 2015, spent the following year with Corinthians, and joined the Baixada Santista set-up in 2018.
