Habib Beye’s Marseille were beaten 0-2 by Lorient on Saturday afternoon, handing the 48-year-old coach a third Ligue 1 loss to the same opponent this season, a rarity.
He had already been defeated by Lorient while in charge of Stade Rennais, 0-4 on 24 August then 0-2 on 24 January. According to Opta, only three managers had previously suffered three losses against the same Ligue 1 side in a single season.

Angel Marcos, in charge of Lorient and Nantes, endured the sequence against Lille in 2001-2002.
