Hansi Flick provides double Barcelona injury update before Girona | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an update on the wellbeing of two leading members of his attacking ranks.

This comes ahead of the Blaugrana marking their return to La Liga action on Monday night.

Barca are of course fresh off nothing short of an alarming defeat in midweek, when the Catalans found themselves put to the sword by four goals to nil at Atlético Madrid.

A bounce-back victory will therefore be in the sights of the reigning Spanish champions when they visit the Estadi Montilivi for a derby meeting with Girona tomorrow evening.

And in efforts towards as much, Barcelona will welcome a crucial figure back, in the form of Raphinha.

Attacking partner Marcus Rashford, however, remains unavailable for selection through injury.

Drawn on the fitness situation in his squad during a press conference on Sunday afternoon, Hansi Flick confirmed:

“Rashford is improving, but he’s ruled out for tomorrow. Raphinha, however, can play.”
