Leeds United’s move for Harry Wilson remains on course despite a lull in updates. There are no concerns of a repeat of the Daniel James saga.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the deal is agreed and the holdup is logistical, centred on timings and getting the player in the building, with an announcement possibly next week.
Leeds and Wilson agreed terms last week, 10 months after a deadline-day attempt to sign him from Fulham fell through last summer. He ran down his Craven Cottage contract and left as a free agent.
Interest grew given a career-best Premier League return of 10 goals and seven assists in 36 games, but the 29-year-old chose the club who were ready to pay a fee last year.
The quiet spell since the initial reports has revived memories of late U-turns, from James’ aborted January 2019 switch after photos at Elland Road to Fulham’s change of heart over Wilson last summer.
Once confirmed, Wilson can join his Wales team-mates for pre-season later this month. Leeds head to the USA for games against Wrexham, Sunderland and Liverpool.
Supporters could get a first look during that tour before home friendlies against RB Leipzig on August 8 and FB Augsburg on August 15, either side of a Dublin meeting with Manchester United.
