Harry Winks was involved in a heated exchange with supporters outside Fratton Park after Leicester City’s 1-0 defeat at Portsmouth, a result that leaves them close to relegation to League One.
According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, at full-time many City players stood near the penalty area facing the stand of 2,000 travelling fans as anger was voiced, including the chant, “you’re not fit to wear the shirt”.
A handful of those players then stopped by the team bus to speak with supporters near the stadium.
Video circulating on social media shows Winks arguing with spectators outside, with expletives heard, as a staff member urged him to board the bus.
City are eight points adrift of safety with three games to play. They will be relegated if they fail to beat Hull on Tuesday evening.
Even with a win, they could go down before playing again if West Brom beat Watford on Tuesday and Blackburn take three points against Sheffield United on Wednesday. Their best chance is to win all three matches, and hope Blackburn do not beat Sheffield United and Oxford lose one of their final three games.
