Josh Holland has been unveiled as the new Leicester City writer for LeicestershireLive and The Leicester Mercury, introducing himself to supporters and outlining his aims.
According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, he takes over as Jordan Blackwell returns to the stands, and he recognises the size of the task.
A lifelong fan, Holland traces his first clear memory to a 1-1 draw with Crewe Alexandra in 2005, during Craig Levein's tenure that was followed by relegation to League One.
He recalls momentum under Nigel Pearson, with Sven-Goran Eriksson's stint in between, and says a spell coaching in schools preceded university at 21 and a role at this company.
Family have long fuelled his connection with City, with his grandad taking him and his brother to matches and his auntie and nana stepping in when they could. His mum knows how much it means and his dad often calls just to talk about the club.
In 2015 he worked at the club as a car park attendant. Marking 10 years since the Premier League title, one of his first days in this job brought an interview with Christian Fuchs, who congratulated him on the role and told him he should be proud.
Holland says he is proud yet realistic about the challenge ahead, with League One football unfamiliar to a generation of supporters. He pledges to do his utmost to cover everything, bring the action to life and keep readers close to the journey, signing off with an Up the City message.
