Hearts to face Real Sociedad in Europa Cup qualifying | OneFootball

Real Sociedad have been paired with Scottish champions Heart of Midlothian in the Europa Cup second qualifying round, after a 6-2 aggregate Champions League defeat to Chelsea. The competition is in its second season and features a Spanish club for the first time.

AS reports that the txuri urdin were seeded in pot three for Friday’s draw in Nyon, which featured the 12 winners from the first qualifying round two-legged ties, the 11 runners-up from Champions League second round mini-tournaments, and nine sides eliminated in the third qualifying round.

Hearts were last season’s surprise package, claiming the Scottish title for the first time in their history.

The Spaniard Eva Olid guided that success before moving to Manchester United, with Andy Thomson taking over.
