Real Sociedad are close to an agreement with Barcelona to sign Héctor Fort before the summer window closes.

The fee is around €8 million, Jijantes reported, with Barcelona expected to retain a percentage of his rights. Borussia Dortmund have also shown strong interest, but Real’s proposal appears to have prevailed, while the club have not confirmed the final structure.

Deco met the player’s agents this morning, and the Gipuzkoan club’s project is the one that convinced the camp, who see it as a place where the 20-year-old can grow.

Right back was a priority position for Real. With Álvaro Odriozola still injured, Iñaki Rupérez back with Sanse for this season and Aritz Elustondo gone this summer, Jon Aramburu has been the only natural option.

If Fort’s arrival is finalised as it seems, Real will have two additions lined up for 2026-27, Mamadou Sarr, set to join on loan from Chelsea, and the Barcelona full back.

The club are also seeking a forward before the deadline, and it remains to be seen whether Fabio Silva arrives or if they pursue a late alternative.
