Recent reports had suggested that Barcelona youngster Hector Fort would be leaving the club this summer. In fact, clubs like Real Sociedad and Borussia Dortmund were heavily linked to the young right-back and were pushing to sign him before the end of the transfer window.
The most recent update even suggested that the player had made the decision to join the La Liga side and continue his career there. Now, thanks to quite a reliable source, it is safe to say that the young La Masia talent will be moving forward with La Real.
As per Fabrizio Romano, the Italian journalist has now attached his iconic ‘Here we go’ catchphrase to confirm that Fort will indeed be joining Real Sociedad this summer and a verbal agreement has already been reached over the move. Furthermore, Romano has included additional details regarding the deal as well.
For starters, this will be a permanent move for the player and he will be bidding farewell to Barça as he completes this move. As for the deal itself, it will include an €8 million fee that Barcelona will be receiving for Fort, alongside other additional benefits and guarantees as well.
There will be a 50% sell-on clause attached to the transfer, which would entitle Barça to half of the proceedings that Real Sociedad would get if they ever were to transfer the player in the future. Moreover, there is also a buy-back clause worth €20 million included as well.
Across the board, this is good business for both Barça and a good deal for the player as well. This will ensure that he can continue his development as a player, while the Catalan giants can retain some level of control over his future and even guarantee themselves a way to sign him again should he develop well.
