Heerenveen host Feyenoord in the Eredivisie on Sunday, 11 January 2026 at the Abe Lenstra Stadion, with the visitors defending second place and the hosts looking to nudge into the qualification play-off picture.
Heerenveen upset Feyenoord 3-2 in December's KNVB Beker tie after the Rotterdam side won September's league meeting 1-0. The rematch arrives with contrasting momentum in recent weeks.
Heerenveen have strung together three straight wins in all competitions, including that cup victory and league successes at Sparta Rotterdam and Heracles. Feyenoord are winless in their last two league games after defeat at Ajax and a draw with FC Twente, and they also exited the cup to Heerenveen.
Vaclav Sejk, Levi Smans and Bernt Klaverboer are out for Heerenveen. Feyenoord are without Gernot Trauner, Bart Nieuwkoop, Gijs Smal, Jakub Moder, Thomas Beelen, Givairo Read, Malcolm Jeng and Gaoussou Diarra, while Luciano Valente is suspended.
Feyenoord's attack has produced 42 league goals with 83.65% passing accuracy and 21.36% crossing accuracy, led by Eredivisie top scorer Ayase Ueda on 18 goals, plus support from Sem Steijn and Anis Hadj Moussa. Heerenveen have 29 league goals, with Jacob Trenskow and Dylan Vente on six apiece and creator Luuk Brouwers supplying four assists. The visitors' seven headed goals suggest aerial deliveries could be a route. Heerenveen, who have scored only one header and no set piece goals, may look to keep the game on the deck.
A win would lift Feyenoord to 38 points and further consolidate their Champions League position. Victory for Heerenveen would take them to 26 points and could move them into the qualification play-off places.
