Real Sociedad said in a statement that Javi López, 24, has joined Feyenoord on loan until the end of the 2026-27 season, with a €7 million option to buy.
The deal includes a usage-related penalty if agreed minimum minutes or appearances are not met. Feyenoord will play in the Champions League this season.
It is Real Sociedad's fourth departure of the summer, following Brais Méndez, Carlos Fernández and Mikel Rodríguez, and after the club declined purchase options on Duje Caleta-Car and Wesley Gassova.
This will not be the last, with situations such as Jon Karrikaburu still to be resolved.
López spent last season on loan at Real Oviedo, improving as the campaign went on, then returned for pre-season under American coach Pellegrino Matarazzo.
He has not displaced the left-back options, with Sergio Gómez and Aihen Muñoz preferred. The Tenerife-born defender joined from Deportivo Alavés in July 2024 for €6.5 million on a contract to 2030.
