Yann Sommer and Piotr Zielinski found themselves on opposite sides of the positivity spectrum in Inter Milan’s 2-1 win at Hellas Verona yesterday.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Swiss veteran’s performance at Marc’Antonio Bentegodi lacked conviction.
With Josep Martinez still mentally recovering from a tragic traffic accident, Yann Sommer got the nod in goal.
However, the 36-year-old failed to keep a clean sheet for the fifth time in eight Serie A appearances this season.
Indeed, Giovane beat him with a venomous strike toward the end of the first half to draw Verona level.

Though Giovane’s finish was clinical, it’s hard to shrug off the feeling that Sommer could’ve done better.
On the other hand, it doesn’t get much better than what Piotr Zielinski did on the opposite side of the pitch.
Indeed, the 31-year-old midfielder found the opening goal with a headline-grabbing volley from the edge of the box.
Zielinski struck the ball with perfect technique and ferocious power, sending it into the top corner.
