Fabrizio Romano has given his “here we go” treatment to PSG’s deal to sign Zion Suzuki from Parma.

It’s a move that’s been in the works for a while, but it’s finally reached an agreement in principle. Romano claims that the goalkeeper, who played at the World Cup this summer with Japan, will join for a package worth €35m.

What’s interesting is that PSG don’t seem to think Suzuki, who is 23 and have 57 Serie A appearances, is ready. They are considering loaning him out for a year, with Juventus repeatedly mentioned as a potential option.

If Suzuki needs more development, we’re not sure why Juve would want to play him any more than PSG. Both of PSG’s current goalkeeper options have struggled at times – would it really be that bad to put Suzuki in ahead of them now?

Clearly Luis Campos and Luis Enrique think so. It looks set to be another year of Matvey Safonov and Lucas Chevalier at the Parc des Princes this season.

Following this deal, Ferran Torres will be the next domino to fall for PSG.
