Grêmio made six signings in the last window, and two are already firm starters, centre-back Wallace and right-back Diego Caito. According to Globo.com, the others are still chasing starts and two are likely to lose ground with Renato Portaluppi back.
Wallace, 21, was the first arrival, signed from CRB after Viery’s sale to Fiorentina. He debuted against Mirassol in the Copa do Brasil and has 12 appearances and one goal.
He scored on debut against Fluminense and now has 11 outings and one goal. The 22-year-old is on loan to season’s end with an option to buy.
Striker Matheus Nascimento, 22, joined as back-up to Carlos Vinícius and Braithwaite from Botafogo via LA Galaxy. He has made four substitute cameos with no goals or assists in official games. He signed a four-year contract.
Jovane Cabral arrived to compete with Amuzu on the left. He debuted by setting up Caito and has nine games and one goal. He lost his place for Renato’s reintroduction against Palmeiras, came on later, and is contracted until end-2027.
Krovinovic, known to then coach Luís Castro from Portuguese football, debuted in defeat to Atlético-MG and scored in the decisive Copa do Brasil Gre-Nal. Under Renato he was an unused substitute. His status is unclear, and he is tied to 2028.
Last in was Danilo Barbosa, replacing Leonel Pérez, who left for Racing on loan. The 30-year-old debuted against Bragantino and has one start in six outings. He is contracted until the end of 2028.
