How Leeds United will make a profit on the £10m Largie Ramazani signing | OneFootball

Burnley have signed Largie Ramazani from Leeds United on an initial loan with an obligation to buy, and Leeds look set to book a profit on his £10m 2024 arrival if that clause is triggered.

According to Leeds Live, the obligation is £6.5m, potentially rising to £8.5m in add-ons, and could be activated over the next 12 months.

Signed from Almeria, Ramazani showed flashes in his first season as Leeds won promotion, even leading the celebrations. He then joined Carlos Corberan’s Valencia on loan, battled injuries, and improved in the second half of 25-26, scoring six in 12.

Valencia, Burnley, West Ham, Parma, Lecce and Monza were linked this summer, and Ramazani fancied Saudi Arabia, but he moved to Burnley on deadline day.

He follows Joel Piroe and Sebastiaan Bornauw in leaving on loan with an obligation. Leeds will receive a permanent fee for Piroe if West Ham are promoted, and it remains unclear whether Ramazani’s clause is similarly conditional.

Ramazani signed a four-year deal, so his £10m fee amortises at £2.5m a year. Midway through 2026 he is £5m through, making any fee above that a profit, and by next summer he might be £7.5m through, so a £6.5m sale would represent around £4m profit, potentially rising towards £6m if add-ons are met and the obligation is activated. For now, he will aim to help Burnley win promotion.
