Anders Holch Povlsen's stance on Sheffield Wednesday has further been clarified by reports in his native country
Sheffield Wednesday's potential dream scenario of Danish billionaire Anders Holch Povlsen taking over the club looks all-but over, with reports in his native country pouring cold water over his apparent interest.
The Owls are currently in the administration process following Dejphon Chansiri relinquishing control of the club in late October, with Begbies Traynor trying to identify the best individual or consortium to enter exclusive talks with in a bid to find fresh new ownership.
The soft deadline of December 5 to name a preferred bidder looks likely to be extended for at least a week, with several names at the forefront of conversations and supporter hope in regards to that.

One of those names that emerged recently to much fanfare was Anders Holch Povlsen, with The Athletic revealing last week that the 53-year-old was one of the interested parties in the stricken Championship outfit.
It was a new name to add to the likes of John McEvoy, John Textor and Mike Ashley, and with a net worth of $13.3 billion, as per Forbes, who have him down as the 210th richest individual in the world, it got Wednesday fans seriously excited.
Povlsen is no stranger to football club ownership too, having taken a controlling stake in Midtjylland in Denmark in 2023 - one year later, they were back on top as Danish Superliga champions.
However, Matt Slater of The Athletic revealed just two days after Povlsen's name emerged into the frame that the Dane - who is the largest individual shareholder in British online retailer ASOS and also the largest private land owner in the UK thanks to his large purchases in the Scottish Highlands - was not planning to make a bid for Wednesday after all, and that has been corroborated by reports from the Scandinavian country that he calls his own.
Tipsbladet claim that Povlsen is not planning on making an offer for Wednesday, with the current valuation said to be around the £30 million mark, and that could rise if there is a real battle to become the owner of the South Yorkshire outfit.
That battle won't include Povlsen though, who will not be expanding his football ownership portfolio to England just now.

Whilst the Povlsen news effectively flushes out another potential competitor for the Sheffield Wednesday takeover, it will likely be met with disappointment from some sections of the fanbase.
Povlsen has a credible football ownership background, having taken over Midtjylland over two years ago and already guiding them back to the top of Danish football, and his businesses seem to be thriving, as evidenced by his net worth.
It could have been a full-on Scandinavian takeover of Hillsborough, given the fact head coach Henrik Pedersen is also from Denmark, and with Midtjylland being a hub of talented young players from around the globe, with big sales over the years of players such as Alexander Sorloth to Crystal Palace, Ousmane Diomande to Sporting CP and Gustav Isaksen to Lazio showing how good that particular club is at developing players - even before Povlsen got involved.
