“Hamburger Abendblatt” report Hamburger SV are very close to signing Nice’s striker Terem Moffi and Leeds United’s defender Sebastian Bornauw. The transfers of the 27-year-old will be finalized in the foreseeable future, according to the local newspaper.
Bornauw’s transfer will be on an initial loan deal after he isn’t part of Daniel Farke’s plans for the new season. The Belgian center-back joined the Premier League side for €6 million after six years in the Bundesliga with Köln and Wolfsburg. Bornauw is the man picked by HSV to replace the influential Luca Vušković.
Moffi only has a contract until 2027 with OGC Nice as he spent last season on loan at FC Porto. An ACL injury was one of the reasons for his difficult time at Nice after starring for fellow Ligue 1 club Lorient, but he was also physically attacked by Nice fans just before his loan move to Porto.
HSV already signed Martin Adeline and Bilal Nadir from French clubs this summer, while the loan of Albert Grønbaek from Stade Rennais turned into a permanent transfer. Meanwhile, Patson Daka is in good form after joining from Leicester City.
