In sporting terms, Bayern travel to Madrid with a tailwind. The team has been in strong form recently, while Real Madrid are under pressure after a defeat in LaLiga and the Champions League remains their last chance of winning the title. Coach Álvaro Arbeloa had clear words for his team ahead of the clash: „My players must believe in their ability to win the game on Tuesday. It’s a very important game in the Champions League and they have to give everything in a competition that is very important for us.“

At the same time, the Spaniard made it clear: „As soon as they come out of the changing room, they must think about nothing else but Bayern Munich.“ He also emphasized with regard to the recent defeat: „I know that they are very aware of the importance of the game on Tuesday.“
