Hull City submit €35m verbal bid for Lyon winger Malick Fofana | OneFootball

Promoted Premier League side Hull City FC have submitted a €35m verbal bid to sign Malick Fofana (21) from Lyon, according to Foot Mercato. The Belgium international winger previously said that he’d be keen to extend his stay with Les Gones in the case of a Champions League qualification. Unfortunately, Lyon have fallen at the last hurdle against Fenerbahçe in the play-offs. Without the lucrative Champions League, the financially-troubled Lyon are poised to part ways with their most marketable players, and Fofana is at the front of the queue.

Foot Mercato understands that Hull City – who got their Premier League campaign underway with a resounding 2-0 home win against Manchester United – have had talks with Fofana via videocall to present him the club’s project. Serie A side AS Roma, who have qualified for the Champions League group stage, have an agreement on personal terms in place with Fofana. Other unnamed clubs are still in the race for the 21-year-old winger.
