Ian Wright tells Chelsea they’ve got a “brilliant” player who’s always “seven or an eight out of 10” | OneFootball

Premier Legend Ian Wright has praised Marc Cucurella and believes the Chelsea star always delivers a seven or eight out of ten performance.

Chelsea continued their good form under Liam Rosenior, and made it four league wins in a row with a 3-1 win away at Wolves on Saturday afternoon.

Cole Palmer scored a first half hat-trick, and Chelsea remain just a point behind fourth placed Manchester United.

Rosenior made a number of changes to the side which lost to Arsenal, with Palmer starting on the right hand side, whilst Cucurella retained his place.

The Spaniard has once again been in good form this season, and has a very important role to play in the Chelsea defence.

Cucurella also showed what he can do getting forward as he provided the assists for Palmer’s third goal, and Wright was impressed with the 27-year-old.

“Cucurella is someone, I really like Cucurella,” he told Premier League Productions as quoted on X.com.

“He’s always a seven or an eight out of 10, brilliant play down the left side for Cole Palmer to get his hat-trick.”

Cucurella has made 34 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring once and registering three assists.

Chelsea face big decision in the summer

Come the end of the season the Spain international will have two years left on his contract, and Chelsea will have a big decision to make.

Two years is usually the stage a player either signs a new deal or is moved on, which is the position the left back will be in.

Cucurella signed an improved contract last year, although the length remained the same, and it will be very interesting to see what decision Chelsea take with the future of such a key player.

Jorrel Hato was signed as back-up from Ajax last summer, but the teenager still isn’t ready to be a first team regular.
