Ibon Naberan acts as Athletic’s institutional representative in Getafe | OneFootball

Former director Ibon Naberan served as Athletic’s institutional representative in the Coliseum box in Getafe. He was the only club official at the south Madrid stadium, with president Jon Uriarte staying away amid the election process.

According to El Correo, the club’s statutes approved in 2022 state that the entire outgoing board forms the caretaker commission during an election, regardless of whether its members stand. As a result, any of them could have been in the box.

Uriarte has chosen to step aside and is also taking a few days’ holiday. Naberan sat to the right of Getafe president Ángel Torres in the directors’ box.

While in office, Uriarte has represented the club at the vast majority of matches.

Naberan is one of nine outgoing directors seeking re-election. The others are Nerea Ortiz, Jon Salinas, Xabi Álvarez, Nacho Urigüen, Roque Echániz, Jon Ruigómez, Laura Ruiz de Azua and Josetxu Urrutia.
