Ibrahim Sangare is in advanced talks over a new Nottingham Forest contract and is close to agreeing a new deal, with fresh terms expected to run to 2029, The Telegraph reports.
The Ivorian’s current deal runs to 2028, and he attracted interest earlier this year, with Manchester United among the clubs linked.
Any agreement would follow recent extensions for centre-back Murillo, signed to 2030, and goalkeeper Matz Sels, tied to 2028.
Sangare, 28, joined from PSV Eindhoven for £30 million in summer 2023. After a testing start Trentside, he underlined his quality last season.
As Oliver Glasner begins his tenure as head coach, Sangare is likely to remain a pivotal figure and will aim to build on that momentum.
His role carries extra weight after Elliot Anderson’s £116m move to Manchester City earlier this month, with Forest prioritising a midfield replacement to complement Sangare.
Sangare also impressed for Ivory Coast at the World Cup, helping them reach the last 32 before defeat to Norway.
Further contract developments are possible, with talks held over Neco Williams’ future and suggestions that Nicolas Dominguez could receive improved terms.
