Rangers are keeping close tabs on Dundee United’s £1million-plus valued goal machine Lawrence Shankland, Football Insider understands.
The Scottish giants are among the clubs with a strong interest in the centre-forward, who has banged in a remarkable 15 goals from 12 matches this season.
Ibrox sources have told Football Insider that Rangers have lined up regular transfer missions to assess a player they believe can make the grade in the Scottish Premiership.
A club scout was at Tannadice as Shankland scored a hat-trick in the Championship leaders’ 6-0 thrashing of Morton on Saturday.
Dundee United signed Shankland on a free transfer from Ayr United in the summer and believe his prolific scoring now makes him a seven-figure asset.
He joined on a three-year contract that runs until 2022 and is being talked of as a candidate for the Scotland squad even though he has only played 17 matches in the country’s top tier.
In other Rangers news, it can be REVEALED that the club have offered £20,000-a-week to international ace as talks underway on out-of-window deal.
