Igor Jesus scored twice as Nottingham Forest wrapped up the Europa League league phase with a convincing 4-0 win over Ferencváros at the City Ground.
The visitors threatened early when Kristoffer Zachariassen headed against the post inside 10 minutes, but Forest quickly took control and never looked back.
The breakthrough came in the 17th minute when Ryan Yates’ low cross was turned into his own net by Bence Otvos. Just four minutes later, Jesus doubled the lead, squeezing a clever finish in at the far post for his 10th goal of the season.
Forest picked up where they left off after the break and effectively ended the contest early in the second half. Jesus timed his run perfectly to beat the offside trap before drilling a confident finish beyond the goalkeeper for his second of the night.
Ferencváros never seriously threatened a comeback and Forest added further gloss late on when James McAtee converted a penalty after Otvos fouled Dan Ndoye in the box.
The result leaves Forest 13th in the table and seeded for Friday’s play-off draw, where they will face either Fenerbahçe or Panathinaikos, with the second leg to be played at the City Ground.
