Igor Vinicius took part in training but remains a doubt for Santos ahead of the trip to Vasco.

According to Diario Do Peixe, Cuca’s side worked on tactics, technique and set pieces at CT Rei Pelé on Saturday, with defensive problems mounting. Lucas Veríssimo is still out with a left calf soleus injury, and Adonis Frías, in talks with Racing, did not travel.

The teams meet at São Januário at 16:00 on Sunday in round 23. Both have 22 points and identical records, with Santos ahead on goal difference as the top side in the relegation zone.

Under-20 duo João Ananias and João Alencar are available, though Cuca is expected to keep Willian Arão and Luan Peres at centre-back. On the right, Gabriel Menino is out after a left knee issue. Igor Vinicius, not yet fully fit following a back problem, trained in part and has pushed to be involved.

Davi Fernandes, known as Davizinho, who impressed in the Sudamericana on Thursday, is likely to be the option. With Neymar and Gabigol freer ahead, the plan is four in midfield, João Schmidt and Christian Oliva in build-up with Rollheiser and Barreal helping to distribute. Gustavinho is in the squad but, just back from injury, is unlikely to feature.

Probable Santos XI: Gabriel Brazão, Davizinho (Igor Vinicius), Willian Arão, Luan Peres, Escobar, João Schmidt, Christian Oliva, Rollheiser (Rony), Barreal, Neymar, Gabriel Barbosa.
