Sevilla remain interested in Al Ittihad striker George Ilenikhena to bolster their attack, but the club have denied making any bid above 10 million euros and are only looking at reviving a loan. According to La Colina De Nervion, a purchase is not on the table at this stage.
Sevilla are seeking a third striker for Luis García Plaza, who already has Robbie Ure and Isaac Romero. Earlier reports suggested a verbal offer worth 10 million plus 3 in add-ons with a significant sell-on, but that version has since been knocked back and is not the club’s current stance.
Sevilla maintain they will not pursue a permanent transfer for Ilenikhena and deny lodging such a proposal. The forward’s camp also indicate no offer exists.
Talks initially centred on a loan. The clubs had agreed a two million fee, and Ilenikhena was ready to trim an eight million gross annual salary to join immediately, but the financier backing Al Ittihad rejected that structure and insisted on a sale, causing the agreement to collapse.
Despite the impasse, there is still a chance late in the window. Sevilla and the player hope the move could be unlocked in the final hours, with a loan seen as the only viable route. In the meantime, García Plaza waits for that third forward to complete his attack.
