Spain's players are set to have family support at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey when they face Argentina in the World Cup final. In Nico Williams's case, brother Iñaki will not miss it. Patricia Morales, Iñaki's wife, said in a post that they would be at the decisive match.

The Athletic captain is on holiday after Ghana were knocked out by Colombia in the round of 32. He reported for the first day of pre-season at Lezama to meet Terzic and undergo medical checks, then took a few days' rest to recover from the tournament.

Only recently over a hamstring issue that hampered the end of his Athletic season, Nico managed just 45 minutes across the three group games.

Adductor trouble then sidelined him for the round of 32 against Austria, though he got around 10 minutes against Belgium. Baena has been preferred in the starting XI.

He missed the quarter-final against Portugal, and had a similar late cameo in the win over France.
