Incredible scenes as Celtic dig deep with injury time winner against Motherwell | OneFootball

Celtic had to dig deep to record three points against Motherwell. The visitors from Fir Park gave a good account of themselves and found themselves ahead in the second half. Despite struggling in front of goal this season, Brendan Rodgers’ side won it thanks to goals from Benji Nygren and then the injury time winner from Daizen Maeda.

The Japanese star has struggled to show the consistency from last season but he showed great determination to get on the end of a Mikel-Ange Balikwisha cross to send Celtic Park into celebrations.

The scenes were jubilant as all late winners are and it will hopefully be a catalyst for the team to move forward. There have now been a few late winners this season – St Mirren, Kilmarnock and now Motherwell. Celtic have had to dig deep and will look to put together a run of form before the game against Hearts at Tynecastle later this season.

Celtic will now go into the international break on a high after the drama of a late win before returning to face Dundee at Dens Park.
