The objective of any FC Barcelona player should always be to play their best football for the team. Unfortunately, that becomes impossible to do if a player is constantly suffering from injuries and the inevitable repercussions. Even right now, many key Barcelona players continue to suffer because of this exact reason.

As a consequence, even the collective team and club begins to suffer as well. La Blaugrana need their best players available, and if they cannot even be fit for selection their input for the team becomes absolutely nothing. Fortunately, however, some key players are now close to returning as well.

One of the players whose return is expected sooner than others is Ansu Fati. The 21-year-old Barcelona forward, who still has ownership of the iconic number ‘10’ at the club, is currently working on his recovery and his return was expected alongside that of Frenkie de Jong.

In the latest update from SPORT, however, it seems that the Spanish forward has some great aspirations for himself. At the moment, with his current recovery going quite smoothly, the forward from La Masia hopes to be back in time for the first La Liga clash after the end of the international break.

That game would be against none other than Michel’s formidable Girona side. A fellow Catalan outfit that bested Barcelona on two separate occasions last season, both home and away, they are a side that cannot be taken lightly and Hansi Flick will need as many of his players available as possible.

As per the official Barcelona website, the match is scheduled to take place on the 15th of September, on Sunday. It will take place at the Montilivi, the home of Girona and a tough ground for any team to visit. However, if Ansu Fati ends up making it in time for the game, that would be a great achievement in itself for the player in recovery.

At the moment, the young forward continues to train by himself on the grass. Already training with the ball again, but Fati is yet to rejoin training with his teammates. After a long spell of recurring injuries and even a loan spell at Premier League side Brighton, it seems that Hansi Flick is the man who is willing to put his faith in Fati as the German coach seemingly remains impressed with him.
