Corinthians’ draft statute reform carries a late twist on Fiel Torcedor voting, reviving an option to keep programme members without a ballot.

According to Meu Timao, the Deliberative Council received a 111-page proposal finalised by the reform commission, which compiled suggestions from associates, fans and councillors since early 2024.

Article 21 now offers three wordings, two granting a vote to Fiel Torcedor associates and one preserving the current no-vote rule, a route largely set aside after a December hearing at Neo Química Arena.

The alternative arose at a closed extra hearing in February at the Parque São Jorge theatre. Councillor Rubens Gomes, known as Rubão, argued the Council should be able to reject change, with others expressing similar views.

The board said only a written amendment would be considered, and Rubão filed one. Later, Felipe Ezabella sent a paper arguing that excluding a status quo option could trigger legal challenge and annulment of the Council vote.

The commission then set out three options for article 21. One grants a vote for president and vice-presidents after four years paid up, plus a fee of one quarter of the monthly individual association contribution, currently R$ 60.25. A second grants the same right in this year’s elections to those paid up for the past four years, with no fee. The third keeps the current rule, with no vote.

An option enters the text only with a simple majority of councillors present, 50% plus one. Otherwise, the two most-backed versions go to a General Assembly of associates. The reform vote is set for Monday 9 March from 18:00 at Parque São Jorge.
