Italian SAFC twins cannot wait to see Mackems in Milan | OneFootball

An Italian Sunderland supporter says he cannot wait to see thousands of Mackems in Milan after learning the Lads will face AC Milan at San Siro in the Europa League.

According to Sunderland Echo, twins Gianmarco and Matteo Fermi, from Lumezzane in Brescia, have followed SAFC since guiding the Black Cats into Europe on Football Manager in 2007/2008. They have stuck with the club for 19 years.

With European nights ahead, Gianmarco, a member of the Black Cats of Italy group, said the pair are thrilled at the prospect of Milan packed with travelling fans.

Their first visit to Wearside was in April 2024. He said they were moved to tears and called the Stadium of Light beautiful, praising locals for kindness and availability after trips to the Fans Museum and Roker beach, plus meeting former midfielder Lee Cattermole.

He urged fans to remember the graft through League One and the Championship. For Italians, he added, Milan is convenient, and he hopes for an unforgettable day with a strong group presence at a vast San Siro.

Sunderland also travel to Belgium to play Anderlecht, to Poland to face Lech Poznan and to Portugal to meet Torreense, with home games against AZ Alkmaar, Dinamo Zagreb, Jagiellona and Levski Sofia.
