Inter are stepping up succession planning in goal, with Cagliari goalkeeper Elia Caprile emerging as a leading candidate to take over in the future.
According to FcInterNews.it, an Inter scout was again present to watch Caprile in action on Wednesday night, as Cagliari drew 2-2 away at Cremona.
The 2001-born goalkeeper was closely observed despite conceding twice, goals largely attributed to defensive errors rather than individual mistakes.
The Nerazzurri are preparing for change between the posts.

Yann Sommer is expected to leave in June upon the natural expiry of his contract.
Meanwhile Josep Martinez remains under internal evaluation.
Unless the Spaniard produces a decisive run of performances between now and the end of the season. Inter are expected to recruit a new first-choice goalkeeper.
Caprile has been on Inter’s radar for some time.
Now fully owned by Cagliari after his move from Napoli last summer.
The Italy international continues to tick several boxes at Viale della Liberazione.
Piero Ausilio has repeatedly sent scouts to monitor his progress.
Indeed, with Caprile maintaining a strong position on Inter’s shortlist.
His age, affordability and Serie A experience align with ownership strategy.
Meanwhile his Italian status is an added bonus that does not go unnoticed.
Inter’s interest is not exclusive, but Caprile remains firmly in contention.
