Inter interest in Tarik Muharemovic continues to grow, with Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali offering a clear indication of the club’s plans for the highly rated defender.

The CEO spoke to DAZN ahead of Sassuolo’s match against Roma at the Olimpico, with quotes via FCInterNews.

Carnevali confirmed that Muharemovic will not be allowed to leave during the January transfer window.

“Muharemovic will definitely not leave in January, we will keep him until the end of the season,” the Sassuolo chief executive said.

However, Carnevali did not completely close the door on a future move.

He reiterated Sassuolo’s long-standing transfer philosophy, which could open the way for developments later in the year.

“We’ve always focused on young players, we’ve done it for many years and we’ll continue to do so,” he explained.

“If we can do something already in this phase of the market, we will.”

The comments are significant for Inter, who have been monitoring the Bosnia-born defender as part of their medium-term defensive planning.

Juventus have also been linked in recent months, underlining Muharemovic’s growing reputation within Serie A.

For now, Sassuolo’s position is firm.

Muharemovic will finish the season in neroverde, but Carnevali’s words suggest the summer could bring movement, and Inter will be watching closely.
