Hansi Flick set to leave Barça at the end of the season

It's over between Hansi Flick and Barça
The future of Hansi Flick at FC Barcelona is hanging by a thread. According to Spanish outlet ABC, the German coach has confided to his staff that he is seriously considering leaving the club at the end of the season, worn down by relentless daily pressure and a lack of support he feels from the Catalan board.
Having arrived in the summer of 2024, Flick made an instant impact in Spain. In just one season, he delivered a domestic treble—La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Supercopa—restoring Barça’s dominance atop Spanish football. But beneath the surface of this sporting success, internal tensions and the club’s fragile financial situation quickly weighed on the German tactician. This season’s inconsistent results have hardly helped: Barça sit only second in La Liga with 25 points and have experienced a rocky Champions League campaign, including a loss to PSG and a narrow win over Newcastle.
At 60, Flick—renowned for his demanding standards and discipline—is suffering from mental exhaustion in what he sees as an unstable environment. Despite a contract running until 2027, he may decide to walk away earlier than expected. Such a move would mark yet another shock for the Blaugrana, a club still searching for stability after years of upheaval. The board, well aware of the stakes, is trying to persuade him to stay, but this time, weariness seems to outweigh any promises.
