Ivan Provedel ‘to arrive’ in Milan next week for Inter Milan medical | OneFootball

Ivan Provedel’s move from Lazio to Inter Milan is edging closer, although official confirmation has not yet arrived. Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the 32-year-old is expected in Milan next week to finalise the transfer, with a medical slated for Wednesday or Thursday.

Inter and Lazio have agreed a €three million fee, with the goalkeeper in the final year of his contract.

The reigning Italian champions have moved on from Yann Sommer and view Provedel as the right fit alongside Josep Martinez, who has been promoted to the first-choice role.

Provedel has been Lazio’s first-choice keeper since joining from Spezia four years ago. He was favoured by Maurizio Sarri, who has since been appointed Atalanta head coach.

Lazio plan to promote Christos Mandas as their new starter. The Greece international spent the second half of last season on loan at Bournemouth without making an appearance, and Gennaro Gattuso is prepared to make him first choice, with Edoardo Motta as back-up.
