Jack Fletcher’s hopes of breaking into the Manchester United first-team have received a huge lift, with a fresh report claiming that he has caught the eye of head coach Ruben Amorim and his staff.

Jack has undergone a gradual rise at United since joining the club alongside his twin brother, Tyler, in the summer of 2023 from Manchester City.

Widely considered among the finest prospects in their age group, Darren Fletcher’s twin sons had spent nine years in City’s academy.

United forked out £1.25m to land the pair, who signed their first professional contracts in April 2024.

Previously a regular at Under-18s level, Jack is now a mainstay in the Under-21s and has already racked up four Premier League 2 appearances this term.

He found the back of the net in the 4-2 victory over Norwich U21 in August.

Since Amorim was appointed United head coach, he has never shied away from promoting youngsters if he feels they have the ability and mindset to thrive in the first team.

The Portuguese coach and his backroom staff are always monitoring the next wave of academy prospects, with the likes of Shea Lacey, Amir Ibragimov, and JJ Gabriel a few who are believed to be attracting attention.

Now, the Daily Mail claim that Jack is also on Amorim’s radar.

The newspaper reports, “Involvement in first-team sessions is a positive for any and all young players that get the call.”

“Confidential has been told Jack Fletcher and Shea Lacey both left a lasting impression on Amorim and his staff in the past week.”

There’s little doubt Jack will carry on working hard, hoping his moment arrives soon.

Meanwhile, United return to action on Saturday when they take on Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
