Angers are likely to have Jacques Ekomié back for Sunday’s trip to Le Havre in Ligue 1, but Jim Allevinah will miss out with a thigh problem. In his Friday press conference, head coach Alexandre Dujeux outlined the situation ahead of the 17th round, kick-off 17:15.
Both Gabon internationals have returned to the club after their country’s early exit at the Africa Cup of Nations, although only the left-back is in contention for the squad. Allevinah aggravated a thigh issue on international duty and the match comes too soon.
Ekomié played every minute of Gabon’s three group matches and staff will assess his physical and mental state before confirming involvement. He is expected to be included if all is well.
Himad Abdelli, Ousmane Camara and Hervé Koffi remain on AFCON duty. Algeria face DR Congo in the last 16 on Tuesday, Mali play Tunisia on Saturday, and Burkina Faso meet Côte d'Ivoire on Tuesday. Koffi was injured in the 2-0 win over Sudan on Wednesday and full details are yet to emerge.
With Koffi away, Melvin Zinga, the more experienced option, is expected to start in goal at Le Havre. There is hope Koffi’s issue is not serious.
