Patrick Videira's Le Mans come in off a varied pre-season: wins over Nantes and Versailles were followed by draws against UNFP and Saumur, then a narrow defeat by Le Havre. Julien Lachuer's Brest drew with Venezia and Guingamp, won at Stade Briochin, and lost to Al-Wakrah and Nottingham Forest.

For Le Mans, the front pair of Antoine Rabillard and Louis Mafouta could test the visiting centre-backs, while Rayan Bamba and Alexandre Lauray may look to steady midfield.
