Jamal Musiala will not be in Bayern Munich’s squad to face VfB Stuttgart in their Bundesliga opener against VfB Stuttgart on 28 August, according to a report by Bild.

After collapsing twice during pre-season, against RB Leipzig and Heidenheim, Musiala released a statement confirmed that he had a neurological dysfunction, and was taking medication.

“We’ve known about it all last season,” said sporting director Max Eberl. “It’s become part of our daily routine.” Eberl additionally commented on the player’s medication prior to their Supercup win over Borussia Dortmund. “He’s reduced it a bit, but now we need to increase it again slightly,” he added.

As such, Bild report that Musiala, who has been training individually since Thursday, will partake in parts of team training during the week, but that the game against Stuttgart comes too soon.
