Whilst Liverpool’s pursuit of PSG forward Bradley Barcola has stole the headlines in recent weeks, the Reds have a had a shock bid rejected for a long-term target today.
According to James Pearce of The Athletic, Liverpool have had a £50m bid rejected for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh.
Speaking on X, he said: “Liverpool have had a £50m bid for Yankuba Minteh rejected by Brighton.”
“Club prioritising strengthening wide attacking areas in remaining days of the window and testing the market.”
The Reds are still looking to sign a right-winger to fill the void left by Mohamed Salah, who left the club this summer.
Barcola would be signed as an option on the opposite flank, with Rio Ngumoha currently the favoured choice on the right. That is where Liverpool are clearly trying to strengthen.
PSG’s Ibrahim Mbaye has been a name high on Liverpool’s list of targets but progress has stalled on any move for the 18-year-old.
That could be why they have switched their focus to Minteh. However, the Brighton forward is sidelined for the next two months with a leg injury. That raises serious questions over this potential move…
