There could be several debutants in Tom Cleverley's opening-day lineup.
After a phenomenal end to last season, expectations will certainly be loftier at Plymouth Argyle as they target promotion to the Championship.
The Pilgrims endured a wretched start to the campaign, winning just four of their opening 16 matches, but stuck with Tom Cleverley, who turned things around, achieving an eighth-placed finish in League One.
Plymouth have sold top goalscorer Lorent Tolaj to Bristol City and will be aiming to replace him before they kick off their season against Stockport County in mid-August.
But who could feature against the Hatters at Home Park? FLW looks at what the South West club's dream starting lineup would be for the third-tier encounter.

Plymouth are guaranteed to have a new goalkeeper in between the sticks after Conor Hazard, Zak Baker and Luca Ashby-Hammond left the club.
Murphy Cooper, who arrived permanently from QPR, is likely to be given the nod after impressing on loan with Sheffield Wednesday last season ahead of on-loan shotstopper James Storer.

Joe Edwards, who signed a one-year contract to remain at Home Park in May, should captain his side at right-back in his eighth successive campaign at the club.

Alex Mitchell became an integral part of Cleverley's backline during his loan from Charlton Athletic last season and is primed to slot straight back into the hub of Plymouth's defence having signed permanently.

Mathias Ross was Mitchell's centre-back partner last term and is set to renew that partnership on the opening day of next season, although they will aim to reduce the 63 goals the Pilgrims conceded last campaign.

Plymouth are in the market for a left-back, and one man linked with a move to Home Park is Aberdeen's Mitchel Frame.
Frame made one senior appearance for Celtic before signing for Aberdeen last summer, with the Scottish side set to loan him out for next season.

Malachi Boateng played every single one of the Pilgrims' 2025/26 campaign, producing 13 goal contributions in League One and is a shoo-in to start against Stockport.

Harvey White was praised by Cleverley for his set-piece ability when he arrived from Stevenage Borough this summer and could slot alongside Boateng in a new-look midfield partnership.

Xavier Amaechi has featured in every pre-season game and will be pushing for a starting berth on the right, but he will need to hit the ground running to cement his place in Cleverley's team.

Although a left-field option, could Michael Baidoo feature on the left for Plymouth? He has returned from his loan in Qatar and featured in pre-season, with Cleverley stating he has seen the quality he possesses.

Plymouth have a 17-goal gap to fill in their frontline and would do well to acquire Jayden Wareham to fill the void against Stockport, having been backed by the Pilgrims faithful to replace Tolaj.
Wareham netted 19 times in League One for Exeter City last term, and with the Grecians relegated to League Two, could he make the short move to Home Park?
