Andrée Jeglertz says City’s last-gasp win over Liverpool demonstrates the incredible character of his players.
The Blues snatched all three points thanks to Rebecca Knaak’s stoppage time diving header, which earned a 1-0 win at the Joie Stadium.
Victory edged us closer to the WSL title and also secured a 100% record on home soil in the WSL this season.
And although City left it late, Jeglertz felt our persistence up to the final whistle summed up his team’s never-say-die attitude.

Our Head Coach said: “I got five years older today! We said to the players afterwards that it shows something about the group.
“No matter if we struggle in parts of the game, and not really creating that many chances, in the first half, in the second half we do.
“We had some challenging parts in the game but the belief is still there, and they keep pushing and finding a way to win.
“It’s amazing in this group, and it’s only because of believing in what we’re doing. They believe in each other and what we’re doing every week. That’s why we win the game.”

Knaak was City’s hero on the day, heading home her second goal of the season to earn the Blues all three points.
The German had looked to be suffering with shoulder pain for most of the contest after an early clash with Aurelie Csillag.
“I’m so happy for her,” Jeglertz continued.
“She was struggling with her shoulder for almost all of the game, but also she really wanted to do this and help the team the whole game.
“I’m so happy she’s the one scoring.”
