Jhon Lucumi ‘to decide’ future after season amid Sunderland links | OneFootball

Bologna centre-back Jhon Lucumi has addressed his future amid ongoing Sunderland links, saying: “Right now, my focus is solely on finishing the season on a high note and helping the team. Then I’ll sit down with my family, with my wife, and we’ll see with my team what’s best for my career,” he said, speaking to Corriere dello Sport.

The Colombia international, 28, was pursued by Sunderland last summer without a deal, and the club later cooled interest in January as priorities shifted. His situation is being monitored ahead of the summer, with an expected fee in the region of £22million.

He has not committed to a new contract, which runs to 2027. His representatives have indicated a wish to explore options elsewhere, and Bologna are open to a sale this summer to protect his value.

“Everything here is fantastic. We’re happy here.”

“I think it’s right to make a decision based on what’s best for me, for my family, for everyone. I’ll decide only after evaluating everything.”
